John Webb, MD
Occupational and Preventive Medicine
Dr. John Webb joined Advanced Bone & Joint in 2022. He is a specialty-trained preventive and occupational medicine physician. Dr. Webb is board-eligible in preventive medicine and is additionally licensed as a chiropractic physician.
Dr. Webb grew up in Florence, South Carolina, and graduated from Regents College. Before attending medical school, Dr. Webb graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic and has practiced as a chiropractic physician since 2001.
He attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine, while simultaneously earning a Master of Business Administration degree focusing on healthcare administration. In 2018, Dr. Webb went on to complete a research fellowship in andrology (men’s health) at MHB, a Harvard Medical School affiliated training program, while also attending Harvard University to earn a master’s degree in biotechnology.
Most recently, he completed residency training in preventive and occupational medicine at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, where he served as chief resident. During this training program, Dr. Webb also attended the Rutgers School of Public Health and earned a Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology.
Dr. Webb is a DOT (U.S. Department of Transportation) Certified Medical Examiner and a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) for workplace drug testing programs. He is additionally trained as an Independent Medical Examiner (IME) and a Certified Impairment Rater using the 5th and 6th Editions of the AMA Guides.
Dr. Webb has extensive experience working with veterans who have experienced war-related illnesses and injuries, such as Gulf War syndrome, chronic multisystem illness, and burn pit exposures. Throughout the pandemic, Dr. Webb was part of a large COVID-19 Task Force in the New York City area and helped implement protocols throughout homeless shelters, schools, and healthcare facilities to safeguard employees and guests through the implementation of current best practices in industrial hygiene.
Dr. Webb has conducted research, given lectures at national conferences, and taught medical students at the New Jersey Medical School. He has published several research papers on various topics, and he contributes as a medical research peer reviewer for several scientific and medical publications. His primary research involves the detection, prevention, and mitigation of workplace illnesses and injuries.
Dr. Webb emphasizes prevention of on-the-job injuries and reduction of disabilities caused by these avoidable events. He conducts pre-employment placement evaluations, performs fitness-for-duty exams, provides immunization guidance, and ensures that workers can safely begin a new position or return to work after an injury. Dr. Webb also performs exams for truck/CDL drivers (DOT), law enforcement officers, firefighters, and warehouse and industrial workers, and he can customize specific employment examinations for many industries.
Clinically, he focuses on musculoskeletal problems such as low back pain, repetitive stress injuries, traumatic harm due to machinery or slips and falls, and accidents in work vehicles. Additionally, Dr. Webb conducts surveillance, diagnosis, and treatment for occupational exposures that can cause hearing or vision loss, skin conditions, neurotoxic damage, or other systemic illnesses. His diverse background, breadth of experience, and highly specialized training allow him to deliver state-of-the-art, expert care to his patients and offer a wide range of services to large employers and area businesses.
Dr. Webb sees patients at all Advanced Bone & Joint locations, in St. Peters, O’Fallon, and Wentzville, Missouri. He also conducts site visits and provides medical services at many businesses in the greater St. Louis area.
